Vietnam experiences increasing droughts throughout the dry season due to climate change, global warming,and human-caused activities like urbanization and deforestation. Drought hazard significantly impacts socioeconomic, agriculture, environment; it directly threatens human lives, livelihoods, food security, environmental degradation. It is essential have a drought assessment map assist in developing implementing strategies combat drought. Space remote sensing technology development has enabled efficient cost-effective monitoring evaluation of on large scale, surpassing capabilities ground-based observations. This research uses monitor assess severity Bac Binh district, Thuan province. We analyzed Temperature Vegetation Dryness Index (TVDI) using multi-temporal Landsat 8 satellite data for severe events 2014, 2017, 2020. The results indicate significant increase percentage land area affected by drought, from 50.74% 2014 66.23% obtained maps provide valuable visual relevant agencies, assisting with planning preventative measures mitigating future risks.
